Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, is close to signing for chelsea in a £33million deal after attracting interest from Tottenham and Crystal Palace.
Formerly of Standard Liege where he netted 39 in 97 league games. Marseille saw his strength and signed him two seasons ago.
Batshuayi is quick and shows great acceleration in one-on-one situations. He has the ability to show quick feet and work himself into areas of space to get a strike. Both feet are capable of scoring, he provides defenders who would normally force an opponent onto his weak foot a real headache because he doesn’t have one.
He shows a great leap and can more than handle himself in high-ball situations. Batshuayi can get you one goal in three matches which is fairly good.
He likes to frustrate his team mates sometimes. Batshuayi can be hugely selfish in front of goal amd it may look like he is playing for himself.
Chelsea have favoured the lone striker approach in past seasons and he fits that system. Batshuayi will offer a faster option up top which may suit conte’s approach.
Michy Batshuayi has the potential to develop into a very good player, he is more mobile, creative and possesses on-pitch intelligence.
Time will tell if he can adapt and fit into the chelsea system.
